Private Events

The University Club of Nashville is ideally located (Vanderbilt University campus) to provide the perfect setting for your special event. Celebrate your company’s employees, network of friends, family reunion or plan your corporate retreat in one of  the uniquely appointed rooms on the upper or lower level.  YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER TO BOOK AN EVENT.  Event spaces and rooms are available Monday through Saturday by reservation only.


In planning our son's graduation lunch, Robyn was on top of every detail. In fact, I was emailing her during the graduation ceremony to discuss a couple of items. I received her reply within minutes that she had it all under control. When we arrived, the room was perfect and everything was set up as I wanted. Everyone on the staff was very helpful and attentive to our small group. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Because of Robyn's diligence and efforts, we were all left with a very precious memory of this milestone in our son's life.

Upper Level Rooms:

The Main Dining Room is 60’X60’ and features an 18 ½ foot ceiling and a 21’X21’ parquet inlaid dance floor. The room is ideal for hors d’oeuvre receptions of up to 300 persons or seated dining for 200 or fewer guests. The dining room features nine chandeliers and eight wall sconces; all are on dimmers. Floor- to- ceiling windows on two sides provide natural  light during the day and up- lighting on the window sheers creates a dramatic glow at night . One side of the room opens into a private courtyard.  The courtyard is 53’ X 35’ and contains patio furniture with lighting under the umbrellas and up- lighting on the trees and shrubs . In warmer months, the cascading waterfall and the flowing fountain provide additional ambiance.


The Art Gallery and the Hermitage Room promote local artists by showcasing their work and offering many pieces for purchase. Groups booking serial events in the Art Gallery enjoy a unique experience each time because the Club features a different artist every six to eight weeks. The Art Gallery is a favorite for ladies lunches and intimate cocktail parties and the Hermitage Room often hosts pre-wedding parties and corporate planning sessions.


The President’s Room is all wood paneling with lighted oil paintings which provides a cozy and welcoming refuge.  Its privacy doors make it ideal for small dinner parties and Board of Directors retreats.


The Wedgewood Room is conveniently located near the Club’s front door and parking lot and adjacent to the Member’s Lounge.  This location makes it an ideal space for a tailgating party or a civic luncheon.


Lower Level Rooms:

The Cumberland Room is 48’ X 44’. It has floor-to-ceiling windows with French doors that open up to an intimate walled courtyard (17’X65’) with patio seating, soft lighting and plenty of privacy.  The room has a five disc CD changer and can be enhanced with a portable dance floor. All lighting is on dimmers.  In warmer months, the outside fountain trickles into the catch basin and is nestled amid colorful plants and shrubbery.  The room is a excellent choice for parties of less than 150 guests for a heavy hors d’oeuvre reception or 120 or less for a served meal or full buffet dinner.


The Jones-Ewing Room is 17’X29’ with French doors leading to the outer corridor. It is perfect for events that prize quiet and a secluded setting.  The large table and chairs enhance the appeal for company meetings or strategy-planning sessions.
